It was set to be re-released as a single with a big radio push, Matijevic said, but the film came out within days of 9/11 and a song named “We All Die Young” suddenly became a no-go for radio play. Matijevic provides Wahlberg’s singing voice, while Steel Dragon’s supposed song “We All Die Young” was a previously recorded Steelheart track. “Rock’n Milan” features multiple songs from “Rock Star,” which starred Wahlberg as a performer in a tribute band who gets the chance to play in the actual group Steel Dragon. His globe-hopping schedule brought him to Milan, Italy in 2017 when Steelheart played Frontiers Rock Festival, captured in last year’s live recording “Rock’n Milan.” Matijevic said the record is especially meaningful to him as it was the last show by guitarist Kenny Kanowski, who’d been with the band since 1996, before he died a few months later. It was really something, and no one could tell.”

“I had to learn how to sing in Korean, so I didn’t just sing American songs, I sang Korean songs. “That was a very challenging experience, but it was awesome,” Matijevic said.
In 2016, he was asked to appear on “King of Mask Singer.” Matijevic said “She’s Gone” is a very popular karaoke song in Korea, so he's traveled there to perform for years.
Change for Matijevic in recent years has included work in South Korea like the show “King of Mask Singer,” the inspiration for Fox’s current hit series “The Masked Singer,” where vocalists perform while hidden in costume.
